Husk, 2025
Stoneware, Terra Sigillata, metal, engobes
70*65*50

Part of the "Data Switching" solo exhibition, Marlene Meyerson JCC NYC, March 2025

Husk uses the AI tool MidJourney to merge images of the artist's work Quasi Others, and of "Ugolino and His Sons" - a famous mid-19th-century sculpture by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Out of the dozens of images MidJourney provided upon the request, the artist used one as a base for Husk and translated the imaginary, chimera-like, non-existing “sculpture” back into clay. In this manner, the metamorphosis and evolution of the relationship between artist and AI that began in Quasi Others continues.
